This is an approach that does not tie the building/site to a particular solution (vs proprietary).

 

Additionally it:

• Allows any smart charger to be integrated onto the building’s existing infrastructure, providing residents with more options or a ‘BYO-charger’ approach whilst remaining optimally and transparently managed

• Allows building management to switch service providers without having to replace the already installed hardware

​

• Avoids unnecessary re-investment. Proprietary load balancing protocols only work for a specific brand and models of chargers. If few of the chargers need replacement, the exact same hardware may not be available in the future, requiring complete infrastructure change (due to product refresh/hardware manufacturer leaving the market)

• The site is not limited in the future by newer hardware which may not be compatible with older systems

• Future-proofs the site - improves site flexibility and scalability
